Beberapa hari kemarin, guru bahasa inggrisku yang bernama Bu Ning memutarkan sebuah lagu di kelas untuk bahan latihan listening. Sesaat aku terhanyut dan menikmati lagu itu*ciaa*
Selidik punya selidik, lagu itu adalah lagu yang dipopulerkan oleh Elton John di masa lampau. Lagu itu berjudul Candle in the Wind. Aku mencerna isi lagu itu dengan termanggu. Aku menangkap bahwa lagu ini di dedikasikan untuk mendiang Marilyn Monroe yang nama aslinya di sebut dalam lagu ini, yaitu Norma Jean. Mungkin karena semasa dahulu Elton John mengagumi sosok mendiang, entahlah.Yang pasti hasil karyanya sungguh gurih di telingaku. Ini lirik lagu Candle in the Wind yang aku ambil dari sebuah sumber :

Lirik yang puitis, musik yang tenang dan suara Elton John yang memang melegenda sungguh menghipnotisku. Aku jatuh cinta dengan lagu ini. Dan lagu ini menjadi lagu pengiring pemakaman Lady Diana, Putri Inggris yang meninggal secara tragis lebih dari sepuluh tahun yang lalu karena kecelakaan mobil. Di Lagu Tribute ini, Norma Jean di gantikan dengan England's Rose. Ahh, Manis sekali :')
